Long Emerald Wrap
This handmade wrap made in Ghana is as beautiful as it is versatile. It can be worn in several different ways as a necklace or belt or used as a home decoration.
Cedi and his fellow artists of Cedi Beads use recycled glass bottles to form each bead individually. They break the recycled bottles into small fragments using a mortar and pestle. Then they fill molds for the beads by hand with the broken glass. Once filled, the molds are fired in clay kilns for 35 to 45 minutes at a temperature of 850 to 1000 degrees centigrade. They rub the shaped cooled beads on a flat stone using sand and water to smooth the rough edges and then string them into these unique pieces.
Measure 86 inches long.
