Floral jaba with elephants wall hanging
This traditional Floral Jaba with Elephants Wall Hanging is handmade by the women of Self Help Enterprises in India using the Kantha stitching technique, a centuries-old running stitch used for joining layers of fabric.
The wall hanging is inspired by traditional Bengali designs and features flowers and elephants. The wall hanging is woven out of silk with a cotton backing and is a stunning decoration for any room. The process begins first with the artist drawing the design on paper. Pinholes are then punched along the outlines of the designs. The paper is placed on the fabric and color is dotted through the holes using a cotton ball to form the outline of the design. After the paper is removed, the artist stitches over the dots and fills in the central areas of the design with running stitches. The embroidery is done by hand using cotton threads.
This is the perfect statement piece for any room.
