Chandelier Earrings with Huayruro Seed Beads
Exhibiting a mix of Colonial and Inca influences, these chandelier earrings blend ornate floral flourishes with naturally bright red and black huayruro seed beads. The huayruro seed is important in Peruvian culture, believed to bring its wearer positive energy and, at the same time, ward off evil. Crafted by the Peruvian family cooperative Joyas Cachi, the earrings are just over 2 inches long and are approximately 1 inch wide. Inspired by their family patriarch, Victor Valderrama, the Joyas Cachi cooperative carries on his tradition of blending Inca, Colonial, Modern and Baroque styles and jewelry techniques. Each piece is handmade from start to finish, including mold making, casting, soldering and polishing.
These earrings hang at about 2 inches long and 1 inch wide.
