Full Circle Contemporary Caña Flecha Shoulder Bag
Your beach tote elevated! From Colombian designers Divino Niño comes this wonderfully functional handbag. Its look is very contemporary, but the design and motifs are wholly traditional in the arrow cane weaving style of the Zenú people in the northwest corner of Colombia. Members of the Cooperativa Divino Niño adhere to the tradition of men planting and harvesting the cane, after which the women dye, weave and braid the materials. Finally the men sew the braids together to make the final product. The Zenú weaving heritage dates back to 3000 B.C. and their early ancestors in the region. The bag has a handy Velcro closure and is lined with ecofriendly recycled material.
Since each item is a unique work of folk art, individually crafted by hand, there might be slight variations in color, design and accents from the image shown.
Dimensions: Approximately 17” in diameter; 4” deep; Handle opening measures 6”
"We want to make our art visible to the world, because it is a part of our culture and represents the traditions of Colombia. " Reinel Mendoza of Cooperativa Divino Nino, Cordoba Colombia
