Crimson Ikat Tulip Bag
The stylish and unique Ikat Tulip Bags are handmade by Rasuljon and the artists of the Crafts Development Center in Uzbekistan. The Ikat Tulip Bag is roomy enough to carry all of your essentials for daily use and make the perfect accessory for evening wear.
Each fabric is the result of a 37-step process that takes a month to create. The Ikat Tulip Bags are made of 70% silk and 30% viscose (lining is 100% viscose) and are dyed using the traditional ikat method. Rasuljon and the other master weavers draw the designs on the threads and then dye them using a tie-resist dyeing method. Each color change requires removing the ties and rewrapping other sections of the yarn. After dyeing, the master weavers transfer the warp threads to a floor loom where they are handwoven into a beautiful fabric. Slight imperfections, such as noticeable silk slubs and minor color variations, are inherent in this handwoven piece and add to its charm.
The bags feature an open inside pocket, perfect for easy access to your phone, key, or glasses. The main compartment is equipped with a beautiful cinch closure securing your valuables and when closed, form the center of the tulip. Handles are made from handwoven cotton bands and handle drop measures 12 inches long. Bag measures 13 inches high, with a 5 inch base.
